Songs recorded in Kircudbrightshire by Seamus Ennis in
May 1953 and by Peter Kennedy in July 1954. The main contributors were two
brothers, Togo and Burns Crawford living and working on farms near Mossdale.
Two of their songs can be heard on other Folktrax albums CA THE YOWES on
FTX 013 and THE BEGGARMAN on FTX 503. The other singers include two more
brothers, Sam & Willie McNeily, James McGravey, Billy Gordon and William
Wallace. |
