Christmas Mummers at Symondsbury & Eype, near
Bridport, Dorset - a revival of the local Christmas folk play by Peter
Kennedy & Bertram Legg were recorded at a village performance in 1954.
It ends with THE SINGING OF THE TRAVELS, a discourse between the husbandman
and servantman, sung as the actors circle around Father Christmas. The
tune, played on the carillon of Bridport church, is also used in an arrangement
by Peter for his Haymakers Band, made for the filming of the play

from one man, Arthur BAKER, who managed to remember nearly all the speeches,
all the songs and talked about their last performance in 1908
