FTX-140 - SMITHS, FULLERS & SCAMPS

GYPSY FAMILIES IN SUSSEX & KENT

English Gypsy Singers recorded by Peter Kennedy on the side of the country lanes of Sussex and Kent, where the Romany families could still find grass verges for their horses and barrel-top wagons - the Smiths and the Fullers were near Laughton, Lewes, Sussex in 1952, and Charlie Scamp was cutting a wood at Chartham Hatch, near Canterbury, Kent, in 1954
