SAM LARNER'S SAUCY SEA SONGS
Sam LARNER (1878-1965), East Anglian fisherman from Winterton, near
Yarmouth, Norfolk, was recorded and filmed by Philip Donellan in 1965. Sam
went to sea at 8 years old and spent his life on the North Sea herring luggers
and steam drifters until the 1930's depression. During that time he learned
a wealth of songs. |
