FTX-513 - COME ALL YE SEAMEN BOLD
Songs of the Fighting Sailor
22 British Broadsides, mostly sung unaccompanied, by traditional
performers from Orkney to the Channel Islands and from Ireland to East Anglia.
Many of them feature successful encounters with pirates and describe how the
blood did flow over the decks and "ran down the scuppers like showers of rain.
Others sing the praises of some of the famous admirals and commanders, as, for
example, the song on the need for a monument to commemorate the death of Nelson
sung by Harry COX: "Old England long expected good news from our fleet"
