FTX 431 - THE LARK
IN THE MORNING SONGS
& DANCES FROM CO ARMAGH
For the collectors Sean O Boyle and Peter Kennedy, County Armagh proved
to be an area rich in local songs, tunes, song-makers and fiddle-players. One
programme (FOLKTRAX 165) has already featured the more politically-aware "hotspot"
region of South Armagh. In addition to Peter Reilly, Patrick Conlon and Michael
Quinn, singers from Cullyhanna, here is another selection featuring Jim O'Neill
and the instrumentalists, the Pickerings of Markethill, as well as Tom Vallely,
Jimmy McKee and Peter Grimley from the city of Armagh.
