A selection of well-fingered rhythms, hornpipes, jigs, marches, reels, waltzes,
polkas, strathspey and highlands, played by champions of both button & piano-
type instruments from Northumberland, Scotland, Orkney & Shetland. Opens
with the original tape, used for the Children's T.V. Series, CAPTAIN PUGWASH
(The Trumpet Hornpipe). followed by other recordings of travelling button box
players made by Peter Kennedy in 1954. From #18 onwards the examples are taken
from old Beltona 78 rpm recordings.
