THE SYLVIA MOORE ENSEMBLE
17 Songs of Africa, England & South America performed by ethno-musicologist,
Sylvia Moore, with a variety of instruments including bell, cora, donno, flute,
guitar, harpsichord, keyboards, oboe, piano, sansa (thumb piano), tabla, talking
drum and tambourine. 4 of the songs are from her native Northumbria and 4 are
her own composition. For the others, she sings in their native language, some
with English translation. She finishes with a Cante-fable, a typical African
animal story-song.
