Joseph TAYLOR (b1833) of Saxby-all-Saints, nr Brigg, Lincolnshire was
phonographed by Percy Grainger in 1906 - here his daughter Mary Taylor (b1871),
talks about her father's singing & plays some of the early Edison Bell
recordings - her father's song, BRIGG FAIR, is sung by Joseph, by Mary &
by her brother, John - the talk is local gypsies, singing in church with
fiddle and harmonium, competitions, about Grainger, Delius and Cecil Sharp
and going to London - and there are extracts of Delius's 'English Rhapsody'
& Grainger's 'Lincolnshire Posy' - recorded by Peter Kennedy
