Like Michael Coleman, Gorman (1902-69) was a pupil
of the Co Sligo fiddler, James Gannon. This is the earliest recording
made by Peter Kennedy, 1952, when Michael was a railway porter at London's
Liverpool Street Station - here he talks about his life and the music,
tune variations, Sligo, his teacher and Michael Coleman's 'Jamesy' Gannon.
He explains the "Alphabetic" notation system and gives helpful
instruction on Irish fiddle techniques - there are a total of 20 tunes
with six of them slowed down for more detailed analysis
