Bob ROBERTS (1907-82) well-known for his stories about life aboard ship and his books on single-handed sailing and Thames barges - he talks about them with affection, the boat-builders, smuggling on the river Orwell, Margaret Catchpole, and introduces the songs he learned on board ship - accompanying, all except two, with squeeze-box (melodeon) - recorded at Pinmill, near Ipswich, Suffolk 1952
