24 songs recorded in Cornwall. #1-11 are those included in the book FOLKSONGS OF BRITAIN AND IRELAND #85-96, two of these being sung in Cornish by the Skinners Bottom Glee Singers from the Redruth district. The book, edited by Peter Kennedy (Cassell/ Schirmer 1975 reprinted in paperback by Oak 1985 and distributed by Music Sales), won the Library Association McColvin Award for the most outstanding reference book of 1975. It contains the full texts, translations, music notations and background information on the songs. Also included are actuality sounds of the May Day festivities at Helston & Padstow, Truro Wassail Bowl Singers celebrating New Year in a pub at Malpas, the Padstow Wassail, Cadgwith Anthem, Lamorna and The Fishermen's Hymn
