The recordings by Frank and Anne Warner were made at Beech Mountain, N.C., 1951: Roby & Buna Hicks and their son, Ray, talk about the local art of story-telling to Frank Warner, they tell four Jack Tales: JACK AND THE KING, JACK, WILL & TOM & THE HEIFER HIDE, JACK & THE ROBBERS, JACK AND THE UNICORN, and two other local stories, one about a "Yape" and another: Old Slooshian & the Indians.
