071 - THE JUG OF PUNCH

THE McPEAKE FAMILY TRIO

Francis Senior & Junior, father (b1885) and son (b1917) were the first Irish musicians, this century, to sing and harmonise to their own accompaniment using the Irish Uillean (elbow) bagpipes - 11 songs & 9 instrumentals, on which they are joined by Francie's other son, James (b1936) on Celtic Harp. It was with this combination, that they won first prize at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in Wales for 3 years - recorded by Peter Kennedy in London 1961
